The beauty industry is one of the most lucrative in the world. In fact, the global market for cosmetics and personal care products is projected to reach $716.6 billion by 2025. As a result, there’s never been a better time to join this booming industry as a blogger. In this article, we will talk about the beauty blogger Tanya Mittal.
A Beauty Blogger’s Success
Beauty bloggers have a powerful influence on the buying habits of millions of women. It’s hard to become a beauty blogger, especially in the beginning. There are so many blogs that it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd. To create a successful blog you need to have more knowledge than the average person.
Tanya Mittal’s Story
Beauty blogger Tanya Mittal runs the Talk2Tiara blog and has acquired great fame just in a few years. She is known and respected in the area. We wanted to know her journey and experience of becoming an established blogger. So we contacted Ms. Mittal. And here is her story.
I am Tanya Mittal from Delhi. At present, I’m working with Google as a Global Support Senior Associate. Apart from that, I’m a digital marketer, fashion and beauty blogger. I post the content on my blog Talk2Tiara.
My journey has started since childhood when I was born with a lip and cleft palate. A condition that is associated with an opening in the upper lip, the roof of the mouth (palate), or both. It occurs when a baby’s facial tissues don’t fuse properly before birth. The cause of this issue isn’t fully understood, but it is linked to a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
Lip and cleft palate occur in about one in every 600 babies born each year. Treatment for these irregularities varies from a person to person and depends on the severity of the deformity.
Tanya Mittal’s Tough Childhood
Right after my birth, I went through 3 to 4 surgeries but nothing brought the desired results. Doctors couldn’t fix the damage. My parents didn’t have another child because they wanted to focus on me and provide the necessary treatment. During my childhood, I had multiple surgeries. I remember visiting doctors, having surgeries, and taking care of my diet. At the age when I was supposed to play with other children and eat whatever I want, I couldn’t enjoy my childhood properly because of my condition.
Apart from it, the cleft palate procedure is a complex one that requires great precision, knowledge, and skill. The surgery also involves several stages and different types of procedures to ensure the right outcome.
The lip and cleft palate treatment is a procedure that is used to repair lip and cleft palate deformities. This procedure is also referred to as Labial repair/ Labiaplasty or Palate repair i.e. Palatoplasty.
The treatment involves making an incision in the affected area of the lips, nose, and/or palate and then using stitches to realign the tissue and close it. The procedure can involve using other techniques to fix certain issues, including lengthening of the lips, pinning back the cleft area, and so on.
Tanya Mittal Carried the Suffering into Adulthood
Because of the severity of my condition, my treatment lasted for 8 years. It swallowed my teenage life. However, I got over it because my parents always supported me, and luckily I didn’t face body shaming or discrimination from society. People would stare at me and at times they would ask about it. Fortunately, no major bullying occurred to me.
When I turned 18, surgeries started again because previous ones were unsuccessful. Then my surgeon (Dr. S.V. Kharbanda) told us about the Smile Train. It is an organization that helps kids and people by paying for their lip and cleft palate surgery.
The Smile Train team brought much-needed relief and support. They covered the cost of the surgical part but my parents had to pay for dental treatment. And the surgeries were over!
After getting over these things, I started my beauty and fashion blog Talk2Tiara. In the beginning, I’d take reference pictures because I wasn’t confident about presenting myself on social media. However, after getting rid of surgical treatment, I decided to take it a step further and post my pictures on the blog. Things changed when people started loving my work. I began to post media content too.
At present, I have 33k+ followers on Instagram and I collaborated with 100+ brands in both the fashion and beauty industry. Smile Trends also organizes events and invites me to join them.
Tanya’s Advice for Beauty Bloggers
As a blogger, I’d like to give some tips to the new bloggers who are trying to make their mark. With so many beauty blogs out there, it’s hard to choose who to follow. When you start your blog you will need to learn how to separate yourself from all the other beauty bloggers out there because that is what will build your loyal fan base. To become successful, try to stand out from the crowd.
Along with this, you must do your research before starting a blog. Find out what topics are currently trending and plan your content around these topics. It will be hard to get noticed if you have just started posting but always remember that a beauty blogger is someone who uses the internet to share their passion for makeup, fashion, skincare, and other similar topics. Also, your blog can involve writing about things that you love, which results in more compelling content. You will get there if you are passionate about it.
‘The words may be endless but the story here is just one. Just start and you’ll make it happen.” Tanya says
