Last year was a great year in personal branding.
Following 2020, it appeared that everyone from traditional professionals to Etsy makers realized the actual relevance and power of building a solid brand around who they are and what they provide to the marketplace.
We saw several tried-and-true personal brand methods used in ways we’d never seen before in 2021. Podcasts exploded, blogs resurfaced, and short-form videos made a comeback.

Online coaching and consulting clients no longer want to be grouped with the majority. These customers are increasingly looking for a personal connection with the online coach, consultant, leader, or expert that they hire.
It will be critical to inject your brand with personal experiences throughout your customer’s journey.
Online coaching and consulting customers are looking for more education than amusement. Consumers want to know that the expert they choose has walked in their shoes and has the knowledge and experience to assist them well.
As you continue to build deeper connections with new and current clients, genuinely sharing your path while teaching your audience through storytelling, will be essential for personal branding.
Secret Conversations Online with coaching and consulting clients is a must. Customers know the distinction between a bot response and a human engagement.
In 2022, you can expect to see the necessity to build locations where audience members can have private chats. Whether through private messaging or 1:1 sales calls, conducting private discussions with your audience will be critical to establishing a personal brand and leading the business toward success.
Short-form videos, long-form videos, live videos, webinars, virtual workshops, Zoom rooms, and other types of videos are all available and used.
In 2022, the need to appear on video to support your brand is still crucial.
Your audience is expecting to see your face in the video. If you don’t use videos in your brand, it could push away clients who are considering investing in your services.
It’s vital to remember that not necessarily everything used could be for you. Personal branding and how you choose to construct yours is specific to each product.
It is important to take inventory of a few things before jumping into the deep end of what everyone else is doing. Please, keep track of what you’re doing right now and how it’s affecting you. Consider how incorporating a second personal brand strategy can complement your existing efforts.
Consider your target audience, the amount of time available, and your degree of commitment.
